The Pianist Cocktail

• 1.67 oz London dry gin
• .35 oz simple syrup
• 1 oz cherry juice
• .5 oz lemon juice
• .5 oz blackcurrant
• .5 oz redcurrant
• .5 oz raspberry
• .4 oz blackberry
• .15 oz blueberry
• 7 oz ice cubes

Instructions:

  1. Place 3 raspberries, 2 blackberries, and 1/2 a bar spoon of blueberries into a shaker.
  2. Add 3 bar spoons of blackcurrant and muddle.
  3. Pour in 0.5 oz of lemon juice, 0.35 oz of sugar syrup, 1 oz of cherry juice and 1.5 oz of gin.
  4. Fill the shaker with ice cubes and shake.
  5. Finely strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
  6. Garnish with a sprig of redcurrant.

A Brief Synopsis: A frustrated pianist himself, music journalist Myles Clarkson is thrilled to interview virtuoso Duncan Ely. Duncan, however, is terminally ill and not much interested in Myles until noticing that Myles’ hands are ideally suited for piano. Suddenly, he can’t get enough of his new friend, and Myles’ wife, Paula, becomes suspicious of Duncan’s intentions. Her suspicions grow when Duncan dies and Myles mysteriously becomes a virtuoso overnight.
