Damien: Omen II – SSP098

Damien Omen II

In celebration of Jonathan Scott-Taylor’s 61st birthday on March 6th, Greg has chosen the 1978 film “Damien: Omen II” for our enjoyment this week. Join Greg and Karen as they discuss the film while they enjoy a shot (or two) of “Satan’s Spawn“. The recipe that Greg found on cocktailbuilder.com is below.

Satan’s Spawn Recipe

• 1 oz Firewater cinnamon schnapps (or cinnamon schnapps)
• 3-4 dash of Tabasco sauce

Instructions:

  1. Add the Tabasco first, then the Firewater.

A Brief Synopsis: Richard and Ann Thorn have taken their 13-year-old nephew, Damien, into their Chicago home following the death of Richard’s brother seven years earlier. The Thorns love the child, whom they are sending to military school, but not everyone is so sanguine about his presence. Soon after Great Aunt Marion expresses concerns about the boy, she dies suddenly and unexpectedly. And she is certainly not the last.

Some of the topics discussed and highlights of this episode include:

  • Karen teaches us what a “Tel” is.
  • Karen gives us lots of information about “The Whore of Babylon”.
  • Greg describes the differences between a trumpet and a bugle.
  • Greg works in both a “Star Wars” and Iron Maiden reference.
  • What is “Yigael’s Wall”? Is it a real thing?
  • Karen, being very observant, noticed that the color red seems to predict a character’s death.
